Process

1. Initial In-home consultation

Great to hear from you!
In this phase we will get a feel for what type of project you are interested in completing. We will schedule an in-home visit, view your space, discuss what the project will entail, and talk about the budget. We are advocates of open communication, we will listen to your needs and wants and will be here to help answer any questions from this point on. Each of our projects utilizes a user- friendly online software program that features a messaging platform that will file all project specifications, documents, and communications. You can see an overview video here.

2. Ballpark Estimate

Based on the information gathered at the in-home consultation and using historical cost data from similarly sized projects completed by CW Construction, we will provide a verbal ballpark estimate to give you an idea of cost.

Why do we only provide a verbal estimate and not a written estimate? We don’t believe a written estimate serves our clients in the way they desire. An estimate (whether written or verbal) is only an educated guess at what a project will cost and not very useful for selecting a contractor. In any remodel there are a lot of variables and unknowns that need to be identified, and at this stage there is usually not enough information, such as plans, product selections, scope of work, etc. to provide an accurate project cost. For this reason, we encourage potential clients to enter stage three with us, the pre-construction agreement.

3. Pre-Construction Phase

In this stage, we take a deep dive into the development of your project, supplying everything necessary to initiate its implementation. Working collaboratively with you, we craft a strategic plan that encompasses project design, scope of work, and product selections. By the conclusion of the pre-construction phase, we will have available all essential documents, plans, and information crucial for effective communication with subcontractors and field labor, as well as for the permitting process. Additionally, we create computer renderings that illustrate design concepts, providing you with a visual representation of your project. With these comprehensive details, we are then prepared to deliver accurate pricing for your project.

The cost of this professional service is typically 2% to 5% of total project costs.

4. Construction Contract Phase

In this phase we will present you with a construction contract that includes terms and conditions, project cost, payment schedule, start date, and projected completion date.

Once the contract is signed and deposit collected, we will secure your spot on the schedule and begin ordering all your materials.

5. Construction Phase

This is the fun part! Our team of skilled carpenters and trusted subcontractors perform the transformation of your home, from the demolition phase through finishing touches. We pride ourselves on attention to detail at every step and transparent and continuous client communication, all while keeping the project and surrounding living spaces clean and safe.

6. Project Completion

Our goal is to create a new space that you love spending time in! We will make sure any and all punch list items are completed and both contractor and client are satisfied. You may miss our craftsmen once they are gone, but we will continue to be available to you for any warranty issues or other projects. We take immense pride in the fact that so many of our clients call us back for other projects or refer us to friends and family, and we hope to develop this same relationship with you!

We couldn’t be happier with the quality of work on our project. The final results were fabulous!!! We've already recommended team CW to friends and family. Thank you Chris and CW team!
Our house is truly a beautiful home!
